HOUSE COMMITTEE HEARING ON HOUSE BILL 5487 HB 5487 An Act Rationalizing the Requirements IMposed by the Department of Agrarian Reform Regarding Land Registration to Facilitate and Efficiency in Land Registration
Atty. Gerwin Panghulan and Mr. Neil Patrick Quiniquini attended the House Committee on Agrarian Reform Hearing to discuss HB 5480 authored by Hon. Pantaleon Alvarez. The main rationale of the bill is to hasten land registration by eliminating red tape as source of corruption. The bill focused on lands stated in RA 6657 as amended by RA 9700 specifically Sections 6 and 10 thereof.
It was also attended by different gov’t agencies like LBP, HUDCC, NHA, PARC, HLURB, SHDA, DAR, private representatives and other agencies that will be affected by the house bill. Almost all who attended the committee hearing expressed their support to the bill as it seeks to rationalize the requirements and clearance imposed by DAR.
